Hello Third Trimester.

I’m officially in my third trimester, 29 weeks to be exact, and boy did it come quickly.

(28 Weeks)

The babies are doing great, both 2 1/2 lbs as of last week, momma on the other hand is measuring 35 weeks if I was carrying one baby. So I’m sure you can imagine the toll the growing babies are taking on my body…..and I have about 2 months to go.

They’re watching me even closer now for preterm labor, as I’ve already had a few signs, and a late night hospital visit that was zero fun. I remember being at our first OB appointment, after learning we are having twins, and the doctor warned me that many twin pregnancies result in bed rest as early as 22 weeks. While I’m thankfully not on strict bed rest, I am on modified bed rest: not able to exercise, do house work, or walk much. I can leave the house, just not run all over town or be on my feet for a long period of time. Even though I expected it, it’s a hard pill to swallow; especially now that my favorite season is here and I can’t physically do as much as I’d like to enjoy it. I know it will be worth it in the end; I’ll just look forward to next fall when we can share it with our girls.

Seeing as we only have about 2 months (maybe less…yikes!) until the babies come, we’re in scramble mode to get things done. We’re getting everything we can in order so we don’t have to think about it when we bring the girls home…insurance, finances, shopping, meal planning, house work, etc. Charlie is the best husband ever and has taken over a lot of the chores, and taking great care of me. My mom has been coming down every week to help clean and get everything we need for the nursery. It’s coming together, but I’m adjusting my priorities in the nursery as I don’t have the energy or physical ability to do all the projects I wanted to before they come.

Please keep us in your prayers as we’re in the critical stage now…our next milestone being 32 weeks. The doctor says she thinks I’ll have no problem making it that far, but our end goal is 38 weeks! We’re hoping for Christmas babies!
