Inexpensive Area Rug Sources

I talked about area rugs a couple of weeks ago when I posted about decorating a rental and then received a handful of questions about where to find inexpensive ones. And then this post was born 🙂

Area rugs have such a huge impact on a room and they’re so flexible. We’re currently switching around a couple of rugs in our house giving a couple of rooms a whole new look without spending a dime. They don’t have to cost a fortune either. One of my favorite tricks for rooms with a lot of traffic (ie eating areas, family rooms) or where you need to cover a large space, is to use indoor/outdoor rugs. They’re less expensive and softer than you’d think. If you want a super soft surface you can just layer a smaller, rug on top of it. I talked about rug layering here.

Here are my go to sources for inexpensive area rugs.

Target Rugs

Overstock rugs

World Market

World Market Rugs

 Pier 1 Imports

Pier1 area rugs

Ikea rugs

Wayfair rugs

You can also find some great deals at Homegoods, as well as flash sale sites like One Kings Lane and Joss and Main. You have to be quick to snag them up though! What are your favorite sources for inexpensive area rugs?
