Gallery Wall for Our Living Room

Happy New Year! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and New Years. I enjoyed some time off relaxing with family and friends, it was fantastic. Charlie and I also made it out to the mountains for a little hike.

I thought time off work would equal time to do some work around the house…not so much. I did manage to paint the kitchen and hallway… twice. I’m curious, has anyone else had to stir their paint immediately after it being mixed at the store??? Other than that frustrating task, it’s been pretty quiet at the Lively household.

We didn’t spend those days off taking down our tree, I can tell you that. I’m in no hurry to take it down because A) I want to get my moneys worth 🙂 and B) it means I need to get to work on our gallery wall because that wall will be even more bare and drive me crazy.

My plan is to put a gallery wall around the TV to balance the sofa and window on the opposite wall.

Don’t mind Ry, he’s part of the decoration!

Gallery walls are everywhere and I just love how it adds interest to any room. It also allows you to display meaningful, personal touches and make your home look less like a catalog and more like you!

Here are some ideas I love:

I like the mix of colors, frames, mats, styles, etc. It makes it look more unique and really draws your eye in my opinion. This will either take me a really long time or no time at all… I’ll let you know when I find out (with some pictures!)
I hope your 2014 is off to a great start!

  1. I love your blog, Kelley – did you happen to notice in the picture of humpback mountain the K C 2012 written on the rock? Pretty cool, huh? Kelley and Charlie 2012…

  2. A gallery wall will look great there! Jeff and I have a gallery wall in our foyer with all black frames but I really like the mixed frame look!
